Coleman Portable Gas Grill – Best for Road trips

The Coleman Road Trip 285 Portable Stand-Up Propane Grill is essential for campground grilling, a football tailgate, or any of your other mobile grilling needs.

The lightweight, collapsible grill frame makes it easy to pack up your grill and go. This Gas grill is also equipped with large wheels that allow you to pull your grill through a parking lot or even rougher terrain, such as through the woods or across a sandy beach. Storage space on both sides of the grill allows you to keep your utensils and seasonings within reach. Coleman also offers griddle or stove grate options (sold separately) to broaden your grilling options.

This Grill grates are constructed of porcelain-coated cast iron. The grill offers 285 square inches of cooking space, enough room to grill up a meal for your fellow campers or tailgaters while still being compact enough to fit in your vehicle. It produces 20,000 BTUs of heat per hour, which is slightly less than ideal for a grill of this size. In other words, it may take a little longer to heat up your food to its ideal temperature, but you also won’t burn through fuel as quickly.

The Good –

  • Affordable
  • Portable
  • Easy to use

The Bad –

  • Smaller grilling space than non-portable grills
  • Lower heat output
